Be a Chameleon.

July 10th, 2014

Personality Switch:

Some people say that you have to have a certain personality when it comes to sales. Not entirely true.

Although decent sales people usually have the outgoing personality with a dash enthusiasm. Everyone is different, so you may have to adapt to the situation. For instance;

The other day a customer came into my booth. She was super excited about the product that I was selling. Great start. She came in with a smile on her face and started joking around. I took that as an opportunity to adapt to her personality so that I can be more relatable to the customer and she would be more likely to purchase the product. Now it isn't always that easy...

You have to become a chameleon.

Slow Down:

Some people stop by to cause havoc and get a rouse out of you. Trust me...it happens. However, don't let them get to you. Be a chameleon...adapt to the environment and blend in with their personality. All you have to do is dial down the enthusiasm and just go with the flow. They might not be entirely interested in your product but, if they see that you are relatable...you may have a better chance.

 Just remember...adapt.
